Spelling Bee for 2nd and 3rd Grade students is a traditional spelling bee format. Students compete as a grade level and continue to receive words to spell in increasing difficulty until a word is missed.
A contest list is provided below for each grade level. Words are arranged in groups that increase in difficulty. In the contest, a group of words is used for one or more rounds. The group changes to the next difficult level when a round changes. A special group of words is set aside for the last three spellers.
Awards:
- Each student receives a participation ribbon at the contest when a word is missed, eliminating the student from competition.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are awarded in each grade level. Placing students receive a medallion.
