Contest Support provided by UT Tyler School of Education & Psychology
A prompt is provided to the group's Sponsor as the basis for the essays to be written by the students. Writing occurs under the supervision of the teacher in a single class time of no more than 1 hour. After the top three essays for each grade are selected, students may proof and make minor edits under the supervision of the teacher before the final copies of the essays are submitted.
Awards:
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places are awarded in each level. Winners receive a medallion.
- Elementary winners will receive cash prizes.
- Middle School and High School students placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd may apply for a scholarship.
