Entry Deadline


ENTRIES
Entries will begin online starting July 17th. Deadline for on time entries is Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023. Late deadline is Friday, Sept. 1 through Sunday, Sept. 3.
Junior entries must be made by the ag teacher or county agents. Junior entry paperwork should be postmarked by
Sept. 9.

Open show exhibitors will register and pay online themselves.

Passes will be picked up when you check in your animals.

FYI: Junior show animals are NOT required to be Validated.
Junior Heifer Show is a Blow and Go Show.
Cable halters and pronged chains are prohibited.
Junior Heifers that show on Friday will be released on Friday.
NO Commercial heifers will be shown.
No Commercial Open Boer Goats will be shown.

Health Certificates

All Out-of-State animals are required to have a certificate of Veterinary Inspection executed by a licensed Veterinarian.
All In-State cattle (excluding steers) are required to have a certificate of Veterinary Inspection. Certificates will be checked prior to entering the East Texas State Fair Grounds.
Youth Market Goats – NO health papers required.
Boer Goats - All breeding goats must have a scrapie identification ear tag except registered goats with a registration tattoo and accompanied by registration papers listing the scrapie premise ID number.
Sheep – NO health papers required.
Swine – NO health papers required.
Steers – NO health papers required.

Texas Animal Health Commissions has asked that we take up a set of health papers. Please bring a second copied set of health papers. They will be taken up at the gate and given to the Texas Animal Health Commission.

All Animals will be subject to the Current Health requirements of the Texas Animal Health Commission and the East Texas State Fair.

Fair Passes

Each Junior Show exhibitor will receive a pass with their paid entry. If additional passes are needed, (please see catalog for gate times) they can be purchased at registration time and will be in the exhibitors packet upon pickup. Passes will be picked up at pavilion or livestock office during check in.

Livestock trailer entrance route

Due to construction of W. T. Brookshire Convention Center, livestock entry has been relocated to Lyons St. through the Christus Mother Frances Stadium parking lot. Please see map of new entry route. Second picture shows directions starting from Loop 323 to Bellwood Rd. and turn left on Lyons St. enter the first entrance of the stadium parking lot and proceed to the marked traffic lane.



STAGING AREA AND TRAILER PARKING

Trailer parking will be at The Park of East Texas grounds. (Future location of East Texas State Fair).

In order to control traffic flow, all traffic coming to pick up animals must report to the staging area at the trailer parking lot in order to get in line to pickup animals at the fairgrounds. You will be given a token at the staging area which you must have to enter the fairgrounds.

If you park your trailer anywhere other than the trailer parking lot, you still must report to the trailer parking lot staging area to get in line to pickup your animals.

You cannot pick up animals at the fairgrounds without a token from the staging area.
