East Texas State Fair brings an estimated economic impact of $9.8 Million to the City of Tyler and Smith County.

Over 250,000 visitors come to the fair each year including local families, concert goers, exhibitors, vendors, contest participants, school groups, entertainers, workers, sponsors, and volunteers.

Livestock exhibitors travel annually from as far as New Mexico, Kansas, Tennessee, and more, filling up local hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Education

The mission of the East Texas State Fair is centered around youth development and education. Since 1992 the Fair has given over $825,000 in academic scholarships to local youth.

In addition, the fair operates Academic Rodeo. An educational competition among local schools where students learn and compete in the fields of mathematics, science, engineering, agriculture, technology, and the arts.
